House Speaker Mike Johnson’s chief of staff pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of driving under the influence and operating a vehicle while impaired a month after his arrest following President Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress. DC Superior Court Magistrate Judge Heide Herrmann ordered Hayden Haynes to submit to drug and alcohol testing and to not to drive while impaired after the Capitol Hill staffer entered his plea on the two misdemeanor charges, according to the Washington Post. Haynes, 35, was permitted to remain on release following the brief virtual hearing.
