Brute bashes train operator with metal scooter in NYC subway — then makes escape through underground tunnel: cops

A brute bashed a Bronx MTA conductor in the face with a metal scooter in an early Tuesday melee that ended with a second employee hurt as he tried to stop the attacker, cops and sources said.   The male suspect, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, was still on board the No. 5 train just after midnight as the 46-year-old operator tried to clear it at the last stop, Eastchester-Dyre Avenue, according to authorities and sources.
